Tavan & Mitto was created when Payam Tavan and Mike Mitto, met more than 12 years ago. Payam Tavan studied at the famous Domus Academy in Milan before immersing himself in the world of Gianfranco Ferre. Mike Mitto, who also studied in Europe, worked at the House of Chanel. Exposed to these international influences, the duo developed a taste for sophistication that defines the modern luxury lifestyle.

Their gift for feminine designs and love of sumptuous fabrics have produced collections that have dazzled private customers for eleven years now. The design duo believes in giving the women they dress the opportunity to “flaunt their own vision of fashion”. Tavan & Mitto also launched their “space concept”, which features an atelier-boutique and showroom, all under one roof, facilitating feedback and interaction with clients and a one-on-one personalized shopping experience.

Renata Morales was born on July 5, 1975 in Mexico City and traveled extensively both in Canada and abroad before settling in northern Quebec. After an education in fine arts, Renata pursued her interests in painting and in the creation of hand painted fabrics. Under the guidance of Sylvie Ouimet, an haute couture pattern-maker and seamstress, Renata began to envision and master her own designs. Her many years in fashion retail and now her award-winning clothing line resulted in the opening and management of her own stores. Morales Ottawa opened in 1996 and within the year began to exclusively carry Renata’s own designs. In 2001, Morales opened a boutique in trendy Old Montreal, on St. Paul Street, carrying on the excellent reputation from the Ottawa location.

Renata has received outstanding press coverage from local and international media and ELLE QUEBEC named her one of Canada’s top ten designers. International music and film celebrities wear her clothes and there is a steady flow of stylists inspired by Renata’s vision.

Irish born Pat McDonagh first made her mark on the Canadian fashion scene during the initial explosion of the boutique phenomena during the 60's and is regarded as one of the most creative designers in Canada today. Educated in England and Paris, Pat has designed costumes for celebrity personalities including, Diana Rigg in the Avenger series, The Beatles, HRH, the late Diana Princess of Wales, actress Deborah Kara Unger (Crash, The Game), actress Maria DelMar (Blue Murder) and actress Wendy Crewson (Air Force One, Corrinna Corrinna, 6th Day).

A dynamic designer, she is always a step ahead of the pack, yet never so far ahead that we lose touch with her. Her designs are youthfully avant-garde, yet retain an earthy, classic feel, often tinged with romanticism. As a widely recognized designer, she has won many awards, including the New York Times Award for design excellence and the prestigious American Legend Fur Award in Frankfurt. Pat has also received the "Judy" Award for her contribution in putting Canadian design on an international level and designed an award-winning shoe for the Bata Museum.

McDonagh's designs are sold in high fashion specialty boutiques across Canada and the United States.
