About Design Network
The Design Network of the Fur Council of Canada was established to encourage innovation and closer links between Canadian designers and the fur trade, for the benefit of both communities.
Since its inception in 1999, The Design Network has celebrated the creativity of Canada’s leading fashion designers through collections that draw on Canada’s long-standing fashion foundations in the fur trade. Each year, the Fur Council of Canada (FCC) calls on the talents of top designers to create unique pieces inspired by the rich textures and versatility of fur, resulting in much-lauded capsule collections. To date more than thirty Canadian fashion leaders, including among others David Dixon, Marie Saint Pierre, Marisa Minicucci and Andy Thê-Anh are part of the program.
The program has successfully established working links between fashion designers and fur manufacturers, providing a competitive edge for our design talent through the creative integration of fur into their ready-to-wear collections. It has received outstanding media coverage in Canada as well as in top international trade publications.
